Alfons Karabuda re-elected as IMC President
The 39th General Assembly of the IMC - International Music Council just concluded and Alfons Karabuda was re-elected as its President for another 2 year-term.
ECSA is a proud member of the IMC: the world's biggest network of music organisations and institutions, founded by UNESCO in 1949. and representing all areas of the musical ecosystem, with 600 million members. The International Music Council promotes access to music for all and the value of music in the lives of all people.
The IMC Board of Directors wrote in its nomination of Alfons Karabuda to the organisation's General Assembly, as follows:
”Members of the IMC Board are honoured to nominate Alfons Karabuda for the incoming IMC presidency. As the current IMC President, Karabuda has demonstrated his outstanding leadership skills and has earned both our respect and admiration. The expertise and accomplishments gained by Karabuda through his extensive professional work as a composer, and through his outstanding leadership in numerous organizations, have put him in a unique position to guide us skillfully through the years ahead. Karabuda’s passion in advocating for the Five Music Rights globally is woven through all his activities. As IMC Executive Board members, we are confident that Karabuda will lead us boldly into the future as we rebuild through the ongoing presence of a global pandemic."
