Collective Rights Management had been criticized for not embracing the digital shift and of mismanagement. The EC responded with proposing a directive to create a fair and level playing field for all: authors, publishers & users. Will the directive change things for the better? Does it ensure that authors have a say on how their rights are managed and distributed?
