On 12 June 2018, Patricia Adkins Chiti, the critically acclaimed Italian musician, writer and musicologist sadly passed away. As President and founder in 1978 of the “Adkins Chiti Foundation, Women in Music”, Patricia played a key role in promoting women composers worldwide and granting them equal rights and opportunities. ECSA wishes to express its deepest sorrow and convey its sincere thoughts and condolences to her family and friends. Patricia will be greatly missed by all composers and musicians across the world. Her mission will continue, thanks to the commitment of the numerous friends who have collaborated and followed the forty years of dedicated work of Patricia Chiti for the realization of effective equal opportunities for women in the world of music, the women and men composers, artists and directors in the increasing and necessary enhancement of the works of female talent.
