The European Composer and Songwriter Alliance (ECSA) is pleased to announce the official programme of the next edition of the ECCO concert featuring the ensemble Fractales.

On 13 December, the ECCO Artistic Committee consisting of chair Dušan Bavdek (Slovenia), Jana Andreevska (North Macedonia), Irina Hasnas (Romania) and Olli Virtaperko (Finland) and Benjamin Maneyrol and Gian Ponte, both members of the ensemble Fractales, selected the pieces for the 14th edition of the ECCO concert which will take place at Flagey in Brussels on 4 February 2020.

The chair of the ECCO Working Group Dušan Bavdek comments: “I am glad that the response to the last ECCO Call for Works was very good and on the level of the recent ones. We can expect another diverse and colorful ECCO concert in February 2020 at Flagey.”

The ensemble

This ECCO edition features Fractales, an ensemble dedicated to performing contemporary music and based in Brussels.

The members of the ensemble are:

Gian Ponte, Marion Borgel, Diego Coutinho, Benjamin Maneyrol and Renata Kambarova.

Fractales is a music ensemble dedicated to contemporary music based in Brussels. Founded in 2012, the ensemble is born from the desire to promote and explore new repertoires. Specialised in performing contemporary chamber music without conductor, Fractales has been mentored by Ictus, Ensemble Recherche and Klangforum Wien.

Fractales was awarded twice the “Just Composed!” interpretation prize by Vienna University of Music and Arts  in 2014 and 2018 for the best performance of a premiere, the prize of the jury and prize of the public at the Whilhelm Twee Chamber Music Competition in 2017, the Vocatio fundation prize and was selected for festival ProPulse 2018.
